Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-23

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for my freelance engagements.

Engagements via Upwork

Payments and refunds are handled through Upwork’s escrow and dispute-resolution system and are governed by Upwork’s terms. The points below describe how that works in practice.

Fixed-price contracts

Funds are placed in milestone escrow. If a milestone is cancelled before the work for it has been submitted, the escrowed funds for that milestone can be refunded through Upwork’s process. Funds released for accepted, delivered work are non-refundable.

Hourly contracts

Billing is for hours actually worked and logged via Upwork. You may stop the contract at any time and are charged only for work performed up to that point, subject to Upwork’s hourly-protection terms.

Cancellation

Either party may end an engagement with reasonable notice via Upwork messaging or email. I will wind down work in progress and hand over the completed deliverables for which payment has been made.

Disputes

Disagreements are resolved through Upwork’s dispute-resolution and mediation process.

Work already delivered

Work that has been delivered and accepted is non-refundable.

Direct engagements

Any work agreed outside Upwork is governed by a separate written agreement; in the absence of one, all work is contracted and paid through Upwork.
